Women's jobs most vulnerable to AI, Australian analysis shows
Australian study finds 15 of 20 most vulnerable jobs to automation are dominated by women.
A recent Australian analysis has found that women are more likely to be employed in jobs that are most vulnerable to automation, with 15 of the 20 most vulnerable jobs dominated by women. The study, conducted by Jobs and Skills Australia, found that jobs that involve repetitive tasks, data processing, and administrative work are more susceptible to automation.
The analysis also found that women are more likely to be employed in administrative and support roles, which are often the first to be affected by automation. In contrast, jobs that require physical work, the use of tools, and adaptability to changing situations are less vulnerable to automation.
The study’s findings are consistent with a recent report by the International Labour Organization (ILO), which found that women are more likely to be employed in jobs that are vulnerable to automation, with a 29% rate of automation compared to 16% for jobs dominated by men.
