User Chooses Nextcloud Over OneDrive for Self-Hosted Cloud Storage
A user opted for Nextcloud to avoid Microsoft OneDrive's limitations and costs.
The user chose Nextcloud, an open-source software that allows users to set up a file synchronization and collaboration platform on their own server or hardware.
This ‘self-build’ model gives users complete control over their data storage location and management method, without the need for continuous subscription fees.
The user initially invested around $220 to purchase two 12TB hard drives, which is a more cost-effective option compared to OneDrive’s high-end storage plan.
