US President Trump Suggests Data Centers Pay Back to Local Communities

US President Donald Trump has suggested that data centers pay back to local communities for their operations, citing the need for data centers to produce their own electricity and share any excess with the community.

This is not the first time Trump has made such a suggestion, as he previously stated that tech giants should build their own power plants for their data centers to protect consumers from rising electricity costs.

Other tech companies, including Anthropic and Elon Musk’s SpaceX, have also announced plans to share their profits with the public, with Anthropic allocating 5% of its shares to a new public benefit fund and Musk promising to give every child in America a share of SpaceX’s stock.
