US-China RISC-V collaboration deepening
US intellectual property provider MIPS is collaborating with Chinese firms at an unprecedented level
MIPS, acquired by GlobalFoundries last year, is driving RISC-V standardisation closely with China, according to chief technology officer Yankin Tanurhan.
The effort is part of broader initiatives under RISC-V International to standardise technologies ranging from artificial intelligence to data centre servers.
RISC-V International unites global players, including US, European and Chinese entities, as well as academia, to standardise various technologies.
