Two-thirds of Americans think AI is developing too quickly
A new survey by Associated Press shows 64% of Americans believe AI is being developed too rapidly.
The survey found that 27% of respondents thought the pace of development was ‘about right’, while only 8% thought it was ’too slow’.
A majority of respondents, around 80%, believe it is ‘very’ or ’extremely’ important for the government to ensure AI remains under human control.
The survey also found that around half of respondents want the government to prioritize promoting technological innovation, while slightly fewer want to prioritize competing with China.
