TUM and Tier IV establish research center for open-source Autoware software
The Technical University of Munich (TUM) and Tier IV have established a research center for the open-source Autoware software, which will accelerate the development of safe and scalable autonomous driving systems.
The center will bring together the expertise of TUM’s three research groups, including the Chair of Automotive Technology, Professorships of Cyber Physical Systems, and Autonomous Vehicle Systems.
The research center will focus on three areas: safety, evaluation, and extensibility, and will provide a common evaluation framework and benchmarks for the development of autonomous driving systems.
