Taiwan Acquires AI-Powered Satellite Imagery System
Taiwan buys AI system to rapidly identify PLA ships, aircraft, and missile launchers from satellite images.
The system will use AI to analyze satellite images covering 100 sq km within minutes, potentially reducing time and manpower needed to track PLA deployments.
The contract was awarded to ThinkTron, a Taiwan-Japan joint venture specializing in AI, geospatial information systems, and monitoring technology.
The system is expected to be completed by the end of April, with a budget of NT$46.55 million (US$1.45 million).
