Swedish Data Protection Agency Develops Guidance on Cloud Services in Public Sector
The agency is working on a new guidance to help public sector organizations use cloud services securely.
The Swedish Data Protection Agency, IMY, is developing a new guidance on the use of cloud services in the public sector. The guidance is being developed in response to the government’s cloud policy and AI strategy, as well as changes in the geopolitical landscape and US law. The agency aims to provide public sector organizations with better support for risk assessments and decision-making on cloud services.
The agency has sent questions to 19 municipalities, regions, and government agencies as part of the development process. The questions cover topics such as data classification, the use of cloud providers in third countries, and strategies for leaving a cloud service.
The guidance is expected to be completed by winter.
