Storytold Releases Seven Open-Source Creative Apps on GitHub
The apps, developed with Rust, cover image editing, vector graphics, video editing, and more, with PhotoCraft aiming to replace Photoshop.
The Storytold team has released seven open-source creative apps on GitHub, developed with Rust, covering image editing, vector graphics, video editing, and more.
PhotoCraft, an image editor, has gained over 17,000 stars on GitHub and supports PSD file reading and writing, as well as AI-assisted editing through MCP and other interfaces.
The apps are still in the early alpha stage, with PhotoCraft being the most feature-complete, but still lacking in some areas, such as compatibility with complex PSD files.
