Romanian workers exposed to hazardous conditions in European tech giants' data centers

An investigation by Investigate Europe reveals poor working conditions, unpaid wages, and exploitation of workers in data centers across Europe.

An investigation by Investigate Europe has uncovered hazardous working conditions, unpaid wages, and exploitation of workers in data centers across Europe, including a case of a Romanian worker electrocuted in a Google data center in Belgium.

The investigation, which lasted five months, found that workers in data centers in Sweden, Norway, Belgium, and the Netherlands were exposed to poor working conditions, including overcrowding, poor sanitation, and inadequate safety measures.

In one case, a Romanian worker was electrocuted while working at a Google data center in Belgium, and despite being hospitalized for five days, he was not provided with a report on the accident.
