Nvidia-backed CoreWeave faces debt crisis despite improved finances

CoreWeave's stock surged 6% after Nvidia's CEO said its finances had improved, but the company still faces a significant debt shortfall.

CoreWeave, an AI cloud computing service company, has received support from Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, who said its finances had improved and did not need Nvidia’s intervention.

However, the company still faces a significant debt shortfall of at least $8 billion over the next few years, despite a recent improvement in its credit default swap (CDS) rates.

The CDS rates, which reflect the company’s credit risk, have decreased to around 10%, but are still near a warning level, and the company’s debt burden is expected to increase due to rising US inflation and interest rates.
