Nigeria Could Benefit from 'Small AI' to Boost Productivity

The World Bank is advocating a practical approach that could help developing economies benefit from AI without competing directly with countries investing heavily in the most advanced models.

Known as “Small AI”, the approach focuses on affordable applications designed around specific problems, local needs and existing infrastructure.

Agriculture offers one example, where a farmer could photograph a diseased crop using a basic smartphone and receive guidance on treatment.
