Mistral AI Releases New AI Model, Claims Performance Exceeds Some Chinese Counterparts
Mistral AI's new model, ML4, surpasses some Chinese competitors in areas like network security, the company claims.
The new model, named ML4, is a large-scale model developed by Mistral AI, a French AI startup. It has over 100 billion parameters and can analyze text and images, as well as train on 160+ languages. The model was trained on Mistral’s European data centers for two months using the company’s own computing infrastructure.
Independent testing by AI Analysis showed that ML4’s preview version scored 38 points on their comprehensive evaluation index, exceeding the median score of 26 points among tested models. The model’s generation speed is also higher than the industry average, and its usage cost is competitive compared to similar models.
Mistral AI emphasizes the model’s network security capabilities, saying it is at the forefront of open-weight models in areas like network defense and industrial and financial tasks.
