Minister Admits Exaggerated Energy Demand Projections for AI Data Centers

Kim Sung-hwan, Minister of Climate and Environment, acknowledged excessive energy demand projections for AI data centers during a parliamentary hearing on June 6.

He was responding to a question from Rep. Park Ji-hye of the Democratic Party of Korea, who asked about the 12th Basic Electricity Supply Plan, which includes projections for energy demand from AI data centers.
