Microsoft Expands AI Strategy with Hybrid Computing and Copilot Integration
Microsoft emphasizes security and user control as it advances agentic computing and integrates AI agents with Windows
The company explained that future AI agents in Windows will be able to work directly with files stored on a user’s device, provided the user grants permission. These agents will leverage local AI models running on the PC while seamlessly connecting to cloud-based AI services when additional processing power is required.
Microsoft also highlighted new capabilities that will enable users to generate apps, widgets, and other digital tools with the assistance of AI, reducing the technical barriers traditionally associated with software creation.
The company stressed repeatedly that Windows is being developed as a secure platform for AI-driven computing, with security and user control essential components of the experience.
