Mercedes-Benz Uses AI to Develop Cars Faster and More Efficiently
The company created the PLM.AI platform to connect engineering information and received 500 million euros in investments.
The platform connects information from different areas of engineering and allows systems of AI to help find faults, evaluate costs, and understand how a change in a part affects other parts of the vehicle.
This enables engineers to analyze problems before building prototypes, with the goal of reducing physical tests by half over time and using more digital simulations.
The AI technology is already used by the company for tasks such as software development, cost analysis, and fault identification, and the PLM.AI platform integrates these tools to share data between different teams.
