Macrocenter in Zamora to Generate High Energy Consumption and Noise
A new data center in Zamora, Spain, will consume 2,255 gigawatts of energy per year, equivalent to 300,000 households.
The data center, located in Monfarracinos, will require a central thermal power plant fueled by natural gas, which will emit 2% of the total carbon dioxide emissions in Castilla and León.
The project also includes a solar park with 978 hectares of panels and a hydrogen green plant.
Critics argue that the benefits of the project do not outweigh the negative impact on the local environment and residents.
