LG Electronics to Establish AI Data Center Chiller Factory in Virginia

LG Electronics is investing $150 billion to establish a chiller factory in Virginia and expand its domestic production lines. The new factory in Virginia will have a floor area of 32,000 square meters and a plot area of 170,000 square meters.

The company plans to produce chillers for AI data centers from next year’s first half, and aims to supply them stably to North American customers by establishing local production.

The global market for data center cooling equipment is expected to increase from 226 gigawatts this year to 420 gigawatts by 2030, with 60% of the demand concentrated in North America.
