Lancaster County, Neb., Working on Rural Data Center Regulations

Lancaster County sets up task force to study data center regulations and develop recommendations.

The task force will govern the development of data centers in rural Lancaster County, where currently there are no data centers, but two companies have bought land for potential centers.

The task force will study data center regulations and develop recommendations for the Lancaster County Board, which nixed a potential 12-month data center moratorium in favor of the task force.

The task force will meet again on Nov. 3, with its final meeting expected to be on Jan. 5, though its timeline could be extended if necessary.
