Iranian hackers compromise surveillance cameras to spy on Israeli military
Israeli authorities warn of compromised surveillance equipment used to gather military intelligence
According to a Wall Street Journal investigation, Iranian hackers have exploited vulnerabilities in surveillance cameras to gather military intelligence, including in Israel, Iran, Russia, and Ukraine.
The cameras, initially designed for home and business security, have become tools for gathering military intelligence in several conflicts.
In Israel, a farmer discovered that the language settings of a camera installed above his chicken coop had been modified to Arabic, allowing Iranian hackers to monitor Israeli military activities near the Lebanese border.
