Hong Kong vies for role in robotics boom with launch of embodied AI hub

Hong Kong opens its first experimental hub for embodied AI, aiming to carve out a role in the global robotics boom.

Located at the HKPC Building in Kowloon Tong, the Embodied AI International Applications Hub features simulated real-world environments for testing and optimising robotic designs.

Seven robotics companies, including Unitree Robotics and Galbot, are participating in the hub, which is housed under the HKPC’s industrial AI and robotics centre.

The hub is seen as a major milestone in Hong Kong’s efforts to advance in embodied AI and robotics, with government support pledged to promote development in the field.
