Google Announces Gemini 4 Carbon with Improved Code Writing and Cybersecurity

Google has introduced Gemini 4 Carbon, a model that accelerates code writing, agentic tasks, and cybersecurity. This model is the next flagship model after Argon, which was released two weeks ago. Gemini 4 Carbon has made significant advancements in code writing, agentic tasks, and cybersecurity, particularly in vulnerability detection.

Carbon has topped the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index version 5.0 with a score of 59. Google attributes the rapid release to the collaboration between researchers and models within the company to accelerate development.

In terms of cybersecurity, Gemini 4 Carbon has excelled in various benchmarks, including SEC-bench Pro, ExploitGym, and CWE-bench, with detection rates of 88.2%, 54.8%, and 71.0% respectively.
