French Caf Confirms Data Breach on Vacaf Platform
Cnaf suspends Vacaf site after a reported data breach, with over 1 million potential affected users.
The Caisse nationale des allocations familiales (Cnaf) has confirmed a data breach on its Vacaf platform, which provides financial assistance for family vacations. The breach was reported after a hacker claimed to have accessed user data. The Cnaf has suspended access to the Vacaf site to prevent further unauthorized access. The platform is hosted by an external provider and managed by the Caf de l’Hérault.
According to the Cnaf, the breach did not compromise bank account information or online service passwords. However, the organization has not disclosed the specific data affected. A complaint will be filed with the authorities, and the ANSSI and CNIL have been notified.
The Cnaf has assured that benefit payments will continue as normal, and existing bookings will be honored. However, new reservations are suspended until further notice. Individuals affected will be notified separately as soon as possible.
