FIA Reaches Global Agreement with AWS for Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing

The FIA and AWS have partnered to apply technological innovations to the management and operation of motor sports, including the use of cloud computing and artificial intelligence.

The FIA has announced a global agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to apply technological innovations to the management and operation of motor sports. The partnership will use AWS’s cloud computing infrastructure to structure the regulations for the next generation of Formula 1 cars. The FIA will also use AWS’s high-performance computing technology to execute aerodynamic simulations of vehicles.

The partnership aims to reduce the need for physical parts and minimize operational costs and environmental impact. The FIA’s engineering team will also use AWS’s artificial intelligence tools to formulate rules related to safety and sustainable performance.

The partnership also includes the expansion of the ‘Digital Licensing Platform’, a tool launched by the two organizations last year to modernize the governance of the sport. The platform simplifies the issuance and management of licenses for pilots, officials, and volunteers.
