Facebook's Meta Conceals $30 Billion Data Center Debt

Meta's Hyperion data center is financed through a complex structure involving a special vehicle and a massive bond issue.

The data center, valued at $30 billion, is owned by a special vehicle called Beignet, which was created to finance the project.

Meta has invested in the project, but the majority of the funding comes from a $27 billion bond issue by Beignet, which was purchased by the asset manager Pimco and quickly resold to an unknown buyer.

As a result, Meta’s financial statements do not reflect the debt associated with the data center, which is a significant risk for the company and its investors.
