Expert Warns of AI's Potential to Wipe Out Humanity

Researchers debate the likelihood of AI surpassing human intelligence and posing an existential threat.

Ludvig Lilleby Johansson, a former consultant, has expressed concern about the potential dangers of advanced AI, stating that it could be used as a tool for mass destruction.

Johansson believes that if AI is developed to be extremely capable, it could become a powerful tool in the wrong hands, potentially leading to catastrophic consequences.

Other researchers, such as Ingrid Glad and Johan de Aguas, disagree, arguing that the risk of AI wiping out humanity is low, but that there are still concerns about the concentration of power in a few companies and the potential for AI to be used for malicious purposes.
