Digital Realty offers $1,000 annual credits to De Soto residents for 10 years

Digital Realty will provide utility and property tax credits to every household in De Soto, Kansas, as part of a data center project.

The 280-acre data center project, set to span 1,400 acres, is expected to generate tax revenue and create 250 long-term positions.

The offer is part of a $20 million local investment by Digital Realty, which counts Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, and Nvidia as clients.

Residents have expressed concerns about the project’s environmental impact and utility costs, with some calling for a citywide vote on the center’s plans.
