Developer Creates Open-Source Versions of Microsoft Office

Brandon Thomas has released open-source versions of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, built using AI and the Rust programming language.

The open-source versions, called GridCraft, DeckCraft, and WordCraft, are available on GitHub and can be used for free.

They support macOS, Windows, Linux, and BSD, and can also be used through WebAssembly in a web browser.

The software is still in its early stages, with DeckCraft being in the alpha stage and the others still in development.
