Denmark Secures Seventh Place at EM in Cybersecurity

Ten young Danish cyber talents competed against 34 other countries at the European Cybersecurity Championship.

The Danish cyber team achieved a seventh-place finish at the European Cybersecurity Championship 2026 in Bochum, Germany. The team of ten young people between 15 and 25 years old competed against 35 countries. They participated in challenges such as finding security vulnerabilities, attacking computer systems, and protecting servers from digital attacks. The team’s performance has been praised by team coach Jens Myrup Pedersen, a professor of cybersecurity at Aarhus University.

The competition tested some of the skills used to protect companies and government agencies from cyber attacks. The Danish team was supported by organizations such as Industriens Fond and the Danish Defense Intelligence Service. The goal is to develop young talent in cybersecurity, which can benefit the Danish business community.

Next year, Denmark will host the European Cybersecurity Championship in Aarhus, where the team will have the opportunity to showcase their skills on home soil.
