Data Centers Are Now a Midterm Contention
Data centers and AI are contentious issues in the US midterm elections, with some politicians and citizens expressing concerns about their impact on employment, local autonomy, and health.
The event, hosted by Newsreel, a media company founded by former Forbes and Newsweek journalist Jack Brewster, featured a panel discussion on data centers, which was one of the most contentious issues in the US midterm elections.
The panelists, including Maia Woluchem, a researcher on technology and human rights, and Hilary Flint, an environmental and public health activist, discussed the concerns of citizens about data centers, including the lack of transparency and the potential for job losses and environmental risks.
The event also featured a discussion on AI, with some participants expressing concerns about the potential for job losses and the impact on local autonomy and health.
