China's First AI-Generated Feature Film Opens in Cinemas with Lackluster Ticket Sales

The film, a sci-fi thriller, has scheduled over 10,000 screenings for Friday, but public reception has been less than enthusiastic.

Presale revenue stood at 65,000 yuan, a fraction of the reported production cost of over 10 million yuan.

The film’s makers, Bona Film Group, acknowledged the lukewarm reception, citing the film’s pioneering status as a major challenge.
