China creates state-owned firm in Xiongan to develop nation’s AI data resources
China sets up state-owned enterprise to manage massive data resources and boost AI industry.
The National Data Group Co is based in Xiongan New Area in northern Hebei province.
The company’s tasks include developing and utilising data resources, unlocking data value, and serving AI development.
Vice-Premier Ding Xuexiang described the creation of the state-owned company as a major strategic decision.
