China Approves Alibaba AI Models for Use in Apple Handsets

China has granted approval for Alibaba Group Holding’s artificial intelligence models to be integrated into several Apple handsets, including the new iPhone Duo, in the Chinese market.
The approved AI systems include Apple Intelligence, Alibaba’s Tongyi Qianwen, and Tongyi Wanxiang, which specializes in AI text-to-image and video generation.
The approval paves the way for Apple to finally launch Apple Intelligence in China after years of regulatory delays.
