Calif Unveils Untethered iPhone 18 Pro Jailbreak on iOS 27.0.1
Security firm Calif demonstrates an untethered jailbreak on iPhone 18 Pro running iOS 27.0.1, giving up a root shell within 2 minutes of boot.
The jailbreak, which survives a phone restart, was achieved with the help of artificial intelligence. Calif has not revealed the specific vulnerabilities used and has not published a public tool. The firm promises to disclose the details when the time is right.
Calif has a history of discovering security flaws, including a vulnerability in macOS that was patched by Apple in August. The firm used AI to create functional exploits for two vulnerabilities that allowed remote takeover of a Mac without a password within four hours.
