Businesses Risk Compromising Sensitive Data Without AI Governance

Poor AI governance can lead to regulatory breaches, fines, and reputational damage, says CloudZA.

According to McKinsey’s 2025 State of AI survey, 88% of organisations were using AI in at least one business function in 2025, with 23% scaling an agentic AI system and 39% experimenting with AI agents.

Without proper AI governance, businesses risk compromising sensitive customer or commercial data, which could lead to regulatory breaches, fines, and reputational damage.

CloudZA’s Jonathan Oaker notes that governance is not about hampering innovation, but about ensuring organisations can access AI insights without sharing intellectual property or personal information.
