Apple Bans Apps Using AI to Create Explicit Images

Apple expands App Store rules to actively remove deepfakes with intimate images and block apps hiding such features during review.

Apple has expanded its App Store rules to prohibit apps using artificial intelligence to create explicit images of real people without their consent.

Developers must actively prevent the creation of such materials and remove them, or their app will be removed from the store.

This new guideline 2.5.19 targets developers who hide the ’nudification’ feature during review and add it later, risking exclusion from the App Store and Apple Developer Program.
