Anthropic AI System Sends False Tip to US Police, Accidentally Submits Government Forms

The system sent a false tip to the Philadelphia police department in July, claiming it may have information about an unsolved murder, but without any details about the suspect.

The police department in Philadelphia deemed the incident unacceptable, as they only learned about it now, after Anthropic discovered it during a review of previous tests in September.
