Ampath says data breach claims of 80 million patient records are overstated

Pathology service provider Ampath has confirmed a “cybersecurity incident” that compromised certain personal demographic and related administrative information.

However, it has cautioned South Africans not to panic, as the claims of 80 million patient records being affected are overstated.
