AI Tool Predicts Survival Chances of Cancer Patients from Facial Photos
Researchers develop AI tool that estimates biological age and predicts survival chances of cancer patients based on facial photos.
The tool, developed by researchers at Mass General Brigham in the US, uses a model trained on over 40 million facial photos to estimate biological age and predict survival chances of cancer patients.
The tool, called FAHR-FaceAge, analyzes the face to estimate biological age, while FAHR-FaceSurvival predicts survival chances directly from the photo, without using biological age as an intermediate indicator.
The researchers found a link between estimated biological age and survival chances in cancer patients, with older-looking patients having a higher risk of death.
