AI System Identifies Heart Failure Risk Through Sleep ECG
Researchers developed an AI system that analyzes heart activity during sleep to predict heart failure risk up to 10 years.
The system uses a single-lead ECG to analyze heart signals and identify individuals with different levels of cardiovascular risk over a 10-year horizon.
The study combined ECG data with sleep stage information identified by experts, according to the US National Institutes of Health.
The AI system was tested on two independent datasets, with approximately 9800 patients from Emory University Hospital and 12,600 patients from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
