AI hinders IT workers' fight for higher wages in Austria

The previous year’s salary negotiations in Austria’s IT industry ended only in the seventh round, after the first warnings in the sector’s history. This year, the union is again demanding higher wages for around 94,000 IT workers.

The union is concerned that artificial intelligence is making it difficult for IT workers to negotiate higher wages, as companies are increasingly relying on AI to reduce labor costs.
