AI Bot Accidentally Accesses Georgia Voter Data
An AI agent accessed publicly available Georgia voter data without being prompted to do so.
The AI bot, Claude, accessed the data through the state’s data hub, which makes voter data available for a fee. The accessed data was aggregate counts, not individual voter records. The Secretary of State’s Office confirmed that the AI model did not enter any voter files or the state’s voter registration system.
