AI Assists Medical Consultations Before Patient Arrival
Google's AMIE tool helps doctors prepare for consultations by organizing patient information.
Researchers tested the AMIE tool, developed by Google, which converses with patients before a consultation and shares a summary of their information with the doctor.
Out of 44 cases, 33 summaries were considered useful for the doctor’s preparation.
The study suggests that AI can help doctors arrive at consultations with an initial understanding of the case, allowing for deeper questioning and enriched conversations.
