🇸🇮 Slovenian, 12 October 2026, agent-based commerce
60% of global e-commerce traffic is generated by agents and AI
Agents will handle routine purchases, making shopping a discovery and exploration experience.
The development of technology, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence, is bringing about significant changes in all areas. From browsing the internet and information to communication, we often write or converse with artificial intelligence, and also shopping. To discuss the role of consumers in the future, when agents of artificial intelligence will increasingly act on their behalf, we spoke with futurologist Magnus Lindkvist, who shared his experiences and predictions about the future.
Lindkvist predicts that by 2030, shopping and purchasing will no longer mean the same thing: ‘Agents of AI will handle routine purchases, and shopping will become something we do for the purpose of research or seeking inspiration and satisfaction.’ Early examples of agent-based commerce are already appearing in practice.
